There are many elements to this orangery design that capture the attention, particularly the extensive glass roof which stands tall and proud above this magnificent structure. It’s almost entirely dominated by glass due to the trimness of the frames and this transparency provides those sitting inside with near unobstructed aerial views. Having so much glass in the roof will also result in sunshine beaming its way through in the daytime and there’s are always spotlights ready and waiting to be used at night or whenever the weather’s at its worst.
A 3-pane grey aluminium bi-folding dominates the area of the orangery that faces out onto the garden. Just a gentle push it all it takes to glide the doors open and make the individual sections concertina. On the opposite side of the bi-folding doors is a set of French doors. They open with similar gracefulness when the beautifully crafted handles are turned and used to create an opening into the house. There’s certainly nothing dull or lifeless about the modern grey finish chosen for the non-brick components of the building. It gives the orangery a contemporary touch that makes it stand-out from your ordinary orangery. Combining the best bits of a conservatory and traditional brick extension has worked a treat.
