Wooden windows have a charm all of their own, but that charm diminishes as they age unless you’re prepared to put in regular upkeep. Sustained charm is in full evidence here now that our modern flush casement windows have been fitted as they’re completely maintenance-free and require zero preservation. The big surprise is that they’re manufactured from UPVC and not timber, hence why they can be left alone. Finished in a dual classic white colour, these flush casements also include the period hardware you would expect to see on a window design of this kind.
Georgian bars were incorporated into these particular flush casement windows and they give them a character all of their own. They also include a hi-tech locking mechanism to ensure that the windows remain fixed shut when locked properly – shifting them open when locked is a virtually impossibility. The colour choice works extremely well against the rest of the surrounds, namely the front entrance and garage door. Examples like this hopefully put to rest the widely held impression that modern flush casements only suit traditional residences as they’re similarly as impressive on new-build properties. Isn’t it time you gave your old timber flush casements the elbow?
